Prolotherapy Injections

Prolotherapy also called proliferation therapy is an injection-based treatment used in chronic musculoskeletal conditions. It is a non-surgical solution for people suffering from pain, joint instability, osteoarthritis, and/or damaged ligaments.

During the procedure, a natural irritant is injected into the soft tissue of an injured joint. The irritant kick-starts the body’s healing response.

Treatment areas include:

  • Knees
  • Hips
  • Back
  • Shoulders
  • Wrists
  • Elbows
  • Ligaments
  • Tendons
  • Feet

What to expect at your appointment.

The injured area will be assessed to determine if the treatment is suitable for the patient and the imaging results reviewed. If the patient is a good candidate the procedure could be performed that day in office.

*If the person is taking anti-inflammatory medication, this should be stopped 2 to 3 days before the procedure. Continuing to take anti-inflammatory medication may prevent the procedure from working.
